the Wheel and the seasons
The Wheel of the Year is the cycle of an annual cycle of seasonal festivals marking the year's chief solar events (solstices and equinoxes) and the midpoints between them.
The Wren and Snail Post will be sent out to honour these moments…
Samhain ~ October 31st/November 1st
Winter Solstice ~ December 21st
Imbolc ~ February 1st
Spring Equinox ~ March 21st
Bealtaine ~ May 1st
Summer Solstice ~ June 21st
Lúghnasa ~ August 1st
Autumn Equinox ~ September 22nd
and then it begins again....
The names I use for these turnings of the Wheel are rooted in my own Celtic lineage, and what feels right for me, but hold them lightly. You may arrive here from a different tradition entirely, with your own sacred names for these seasons.
Name them as you feel aligned to. There is room here for all of it. 🌿
